Gym Class Hero
When you think back to high school gym class, what comes to mind? For me it’s “running” an 18.5 minute mile, but I digress! Most of us can agree that high school gym class isn’t the most romantic place. For Lauren & Nathan though, that’s the spot where they first met. The spot where Lauren bet Nathan that he couldn’t kick the ball into the basketball hoop during a kickball game. The spot where something clicked for both of them, they knew they had met someone they could spend forever with.
The Proposal
I’m thoroughly impressed that Nathan was still able to totally surprise Lauren with his proposal, despite how well they know each other. He told her the dock at his parents’ cottage was broken and they needed to get out there and fix it. Their golden retriever Tucker was in tow, of course. As they stood on the dock Nathan said the most romantic thing… “I think Tucker has a tick on him.” Now here’s where it comes in handy to know your partner. If my husband would have tried this tactic to propose I would have been running full speed in the other direction before he spoke another word. I 100% guarantee I’d knock that high school mile run time right out of the water. Not Lauren though, her immediate reaction was to check.
When Lauren bent down to check on her fur baby, she saw that Tucker’s collar said, “Lauren… will you marry me?” As she noticed this, Nathan got down on one knee. He even had their families hiding there taking photos and she was none the wiser!
Luckily Tucker came along with us during the engagement session.
This dog is beautiful, he legitimately looks like he should be a spokes-dog. Make sure you slow your scroll below to see the custom collar Nathan used to propose. So cool!
